As a society, we have cocooned ourselves. Every day we are rushing from one goal or target to the next. And while working on one thing, we are already thinking about the next thing to check off on our list. We are so much engaged in this whole process that we often forget to actually look around, listen to our heart and enjoy the journey we took to get where we are today.

With this post we hope to inspire you to focus on your own journey and listen to your heart! Because not only during our first weeks of traveling through Mexico but also while preparing our entire Digital Nomadz experiment, we have experienced the importance of enjoying the journey. We have traveled quite some miles already, 6319 to be precise. But from the moment we started planning, up until this moment where we are writing this blog on our bed in Puebla, Mexico, we have known that it is not about the miles. It is the journey itself and being aware of your surroundings that matters most. Our journey is a combination of work, travel and having fun while helping others. Even though we have decided to physically travel we also realized that you do not always have to travel to be on a journey.

We all have our own goals we hope to accomplish. Our own destinations and personal journeys. But you have to make that sure you don’t spend your journey rushing from one destination to another. Take the time to enjoy the sights and sounds along the way. Always follow your heart, even if there are people saying you ‘should not’ or ‘you cannot’. Ignore those people, you are the only one who knows what is best for you and how you want to live your life. If you do so, you will reach your destination as a happier and healthier person with lots of beautiful memories. We are are all taking this thrilling and amazing journey called life. Make sure you enjoy it! Slow down, smell the roses, watch a sunset and aim to make a dent in the universe. Make your own decisions, love much, laugh often, live well. Keep the journey full of wonder and full of love. These are the secrets to happiness and success!
