Yesterday we had to travel from Caye Caulker (Belize) to Palenque (Mexico) to visit the Maya ruins. Because of the fact that there are a lot of ways to do this, we took some time to figure out our route. We could have made some very different decisions but for some reason we decided:

- to take the boat to San Pedro (instead of Belize City)
- to hang around in San Pedro for a couple of hours (instead of continuing our journey)
- to fly to Corozal and than take a bus to Chetumal (instead of going by boat directly to Chetumal the next morning)
- to take a taxi at Corozal airport to Chetumal (instead of taking a taxi only to the bus station)
to ask the driver if he perhaps knew Henry, the owner of the company who had our luggage (instead of just enjoying the ride to Chetumal)
- to ask the driver if he than also knew Alejandro Trejo (turned out it was him..)
- to ask Alejandro if he remembered taking two backpacks he was not supposed to take (Alejandro turned red and started laughing… he was the guy who accidentally took our backpacks the week before..)

Long story short: The chance that we would have run into Alejandro was very small but for some reason we did… It’s a small world and we got some awesome pictures to support this story:
